Disaster Recovery Plan
Gridcheck maintains a disaster recovery strategy focused on the rapid restoration of services in the event of infrastructure failure, data loss, or other critical incidents. As a cloud-based platform hosted on AWS, our systems are designed to support flexible recovery and continuity under adverse conditions.
This Disaster Recovery Plan is owned by Gridcheck executive leadership and is reviewed annually, tested periodically, and updated following significant infrastructure changes or operational incidents.
Recovery Objectives
- Recovery Time Objective (RTO): < 24 hours
- Recovery Point Objective (RPO): < 1 hour for core databases
Backup & Data Recovery
- Encrypted database backups are performed automatically and daily within AWS.
- Backups are stored within AWS using encrypted storage snapshots and redundant cloud storage services to support recovery objectives.
- Restoration procedures are periodically tested in our staging environment to verify integrity.
System Restoration
- In the event of a failure in the primary AWS region (US East – N. Virginia), services can be redeployed to an alternate region using infrastructure-as-code and stored snapshots.
- Application code and configurations are version-controlled and stored securely in private repositories.
Access & Security
- Access to recovery environments is restricted to authorized personnel.
- Credentials are protected via AWS IAM and administrative access is limited to core team members.
Communication
- In the event of a major outage or disaster, Gridcheck will notify affected customers as soon as possible via email and will provide updates throughout the recovery process.
Review & Testing
- This plan is reviewed annually and following any major infrastructure changes.
- Recovery procedures are tested periodically as part of our internal development process.
